Man charged with beating 85-year-old Sandy woman to death with golf club

SANDY -- Police have arrested a man accused of beating his 85-year-old grandmother-in-law to death with a golf club.

Police say officers responded to a Sandy home Thursday night after a woman reported her husband was having a psychotic episode and beating a female in the house with a golf club.

Sgt. Jon Arnold says in a statement police found the body of 85-year-old Arla "Caroline" Christensen and arrested her grandson-in-law, 41-year-old Kevin Cuillard.

Arnold says Cuillard was arrested without incident and booked into Salt Lake County Jail on a homicide charge.

He says Christensen had lived in Mount Pleasant but recently moved into Cuillard's home due to some health issues.
