LAFF: 'Mother, I Love You', 'Code Black' Win Jury Awards

The Los Angeles Film Festival crowned Janis Nord's  Mother, I Love You and Ryan McGarry's Code Black as the jury award winners on Sunday.

Mother, I Love You, which premiered in the U.S. at the festival, won the Narrative Award while Code Black, which made its world premiere at LAFF, won the Documentary award.

The honors were presented at an awards brunch Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The 19th Los Angeles Film Festival, produced by non-profit Film Independent, is held from June 13 - 23. The festival said it premiered 35 titles during the ten-day event.

LAFF kicked off with of Pedro Almodovar's I'm So Excited on opening night. On Friday, director James Wan's supernatural thriller, The Conjuring was screened at the festival. A screening of Steve Carell's The Way, Way Back will close the festival.
