'Happy Endings' Actress Elisha Cuthbert Weds NHL Star Dion Phaneuf


TORONTO - Happy Endings' actress Elisha Cuthbert married Toronto Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf at a private ceremony in Summerfield, Prince Edward Island.

Calgary-born Cuthbert played a heartbreaker runaway bride in the ABC comedy’s pilot before it was recently canceled.

On Saturday, she was delivered to the church in a vintage black Camaro convertible she received as a gift from the hockey star, according to the Toronto Star newspaper.

Surrounded by around a dozen Maple Leaf players and top execs, the couple were wed before a reception bash at their summer residence in New London. Before starting to date Phaneuf in 2008, Cuthbert was tied to the NHL’s Sean Avery.

Cuthbert, whose breakout role was performing opposite fellow Canadian Keifer Sutherland as Kim Bauer on 24, is known in Canada for earlier roles in local series like Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Largo Winch.
