TORONTO – Canadian exhibitor Cineplex is betting cinema-goers will pre-buy a digital copy of Guillermo del Toro’s action flick Pacific Rim as they purchase a theater ticket.
The Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures movie is the first choice for Cineplex’s SuperTicket, where it bundles a cinema ticket and a pre-order to receive a cloud-based UltraViolet version of the same movie.
A Pacific Rim SuperTicket will cost $19.99 for a standard definition digital download, or $24.99 for a high definition digital download, plus the cost of the theatrical movie ticket.
